Moisture-sensitive electronic components can’t just be protected from static — humidity is just as real a threat. Ameripak’s moisture barrier bags (MBBs) combine a low moisture-vapor-transmission-rate film with static-shielding protection in a single bag, keeping moisture-sensitive devices (MSDs) dry and ESD-safe from the production floor through final shipment.

Built to IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 — the joint standard governing handling, packing, shipping, and use of moisture/reflow-sensitive devices — our bags are heat-sealable and designed for use with desiccant and a humidity indicator card inside, together forming a complete dry packaging system that protects components from both ESD and moisture. The amount of desiccant used is sized to the bag’s surface area and moisture-vapor-transmission rate, keeping interior humidity below 10% relative humidity — the level MSDs need to stay safe from the cracking and delamination failures that trigger when trapped moisture flashes to steam during reflow soldering.
